Washoku Cafe provides Delivery, Take-Out, Catering, and Dining Services in Midtown Manhattan. We boast a large area to eat in the cafe style restaurant. “Washoku” means Japanese Food in Japanese. The theme of our cafe is to serve fresh, homemade, and authentic Japanese food items. We have put together an array of the freshest, authentic food items on the market today and at reasonable prices.

Our unique concept is to introduce authentic Japanese ingredients, flavors, traditional or seasonal dishes, presentation styles and the overall culture and aesthetics of Japan. We serve Japanese comfort foods such as "SOZAI" (buffet of prepared foods), "BENTO" (lunch box), and made-to-order dishes as close to authentic Japanese cuisine enjoyed in Japan.

It is first and foremost our goal to provide healthy, fresh, lunch alternatives to Midtown. We have an array of Japanese Salads, Sozai, Rice Bowls, Hot Noodles ("Udon" and "Soba"), creative sandwiches, fresh homemade desserts and ice cream made by our pastry chef, and freshly made Sushi, produced by our Japanese sushi chefs.

Traditionally, Authentic Japanese Restaurants are very expensive and people tend to think that they are for more sophisticated people. We want to change that traditional notion and create a casual setting. To introduce our cuisine, we are featuring a "CHICKEN TERIYAKI DON" (Chicken Teriyaki Rice Bowl) at ONLY $4.99 (limited time only), whichi is a hearty but economical lunch idea. You can also enjoy our afternoon tea set with our homemade dessert at $2.75 and up after 1:00pm, and our coffee is only $0.75.

Finally, we have a "BENTO" (lunch box) delivery service for you on a daily basis. Our staff brings our daily bento specials to your company, and you and your co-workers can select and purchase your favorite bento lunch box without leaving the office. NO PRE ORDER NECESSARY!! We currently distribute over 200 bentos per day for individuals and several large Japanese and US companies. In order to distinguish our sushi and other Japanese items from other restaurants, we serve both traditional Japanese food & sushi as well as “fusion Japanese food & sushi” in order to keep our customers interested.

We can also cater for all occasions, including Weddings, Birthdays, Corporate Functions, Bar Mitzvah’s, etc, as well as do food planning for your event.
